County Councillor Carol Cavill’s Report

Footpath 33/18 The Croft to Starvation

There have been discussions with the developer of Penally heights and the Footpaths Officer regarding this path.  As the hedge at the side of the path nearest to the Penally Heights development has been continually cut back more than the other side, it has become very thin.  The developer wished to cut back the other side, to maintain the width of the footpath and to allow the side nearest the houses to thicken up. Unfortunately, it seems that the other side has been cut right down.  However, the Footpaths Officer is keeping an eye on this and it seems that it is now starting to grow again and bush out from the bottom.

Bus Shelter on the Village Green

It seems that a Housing Officer, not knowing that the light had been disconnected for health and safety reasons, put in a new light but failed to connect it.  Not only is it not the policy of Pembrokeshire county Council to light bus shelters but this one was regarded as positively dangerous on health and safety matters, it is too low and the wires are exposed. It will now be removed.

By-pass path

The application for funding from the Welsh Assembly for extension of this path so that it met the other one at Four Winds Lane was not successful.  I will now be pursuing other ways of achieving the extension of this path.
