County Councillor Carol Cavill’s Report
June 2008
Proposed closure of Penally Post Office
After consulting with various residents of Penally, I have written to the National consultation Team requesting that, should the Post Office have to close, they consider an ‘Out reach’ branch to be held in the Village Hall once a fortnight. I think there would be sufficient volunteers to make up a rota to provide tea or coffee on these occasions. This way the community could retain something of what it is losing and would create a social morning in the village.

It has been pointed out me that several trees are leaning over the road at this point and are so low that lorries and buses have scraped the bark off. I have asked the Area Maintenance Officer to look into the safety of these trees.

The Area Maintenance team will use the scrapings from their seasonal road surfacing dressing to fill in any pot holes.
