County Councillor Mrs Cavill’s Report

Kissing Gates in the National Park

It has been observed that he metal kissing gates on National Park land in Penally are in a bad state. In previous years the Community Council has requested that the old, historic kissing gates be kept wherever possible. Consequently, over the years the NPA has gone to a lot of trouble to repair them. However, if the Community Council feels that the time has come for new ones they should put the request to NPA in writing and then they would be happy to oblige (for any in the NP). New ones would be like the ones on the link from the school to the golf course.

Twinning

I have received a telephone call from someone in Landeleau in Brittany asking if Penally would like to twin with them.  This would be the most appropriate place for us to twin with as Landeleau is named after St Teilo and of course St Teilo was born here in Penally.  Several people have expressed an interest in this and I am in the process of finding out more details

Pumping Station next to the Paddock Inn

This is being continuously monitored and over the last year a considerable sum of money has been spent on improvements here.  The next step is to pave the area around it so that any seepage can be quickly washed away.  If it can be brought up to a standard where no complaints have been received for five years, the water company will consider adopting it.

Meeting with Hywel Dda NHS Trust

Last week, together with the Chairman, I attended a meeting called by the Hywel Dda Trust to discuss urgent and emergency care. This was held in the New Tenby Hospital and began with a presentation to up date us on the current plans to improve local services.  There was then an opportunity to comment on these.  Obviously we were more concerned with the services offered at Tenby Hospital and that these should be maintained.

Kiln Park - Penally Court Site

A landscaping scheme has now been submitted to the County Council which the Landscaping Officer feels if acceptable.
