County Councillor Mrs Carol Cavill’s Report

Land in front of the Army Training Camp

At the last meeting, the subject of tidying up this land was briefly discussed.  I have found the plan drawn up by the Conservation Officer at the request of the Regeneration officer who was going to organise it.  Since then with so many personnel changes both in the Community Council and the Regeneration unit the matter was put on hold.

May Trees on the Village Green

Some doubt as to where these trees had originally been purchased was expressed at you last meeting.  I have found a copy of a letter which referred to Cosheston Nurseries.

Highway Surface Water Drain in the vicinity of the Village Hall

Some time ago, the Area Maintenance Officer investigated the gullies in this area and discovered a previously unknown problem.  The discharge pipe used to outfall into an open ditch in the field has at some time in the past been removed.  The pipe work was not extended to a new outfall and so only very limited drainage can occur by soaking away in the field..  The Officer said a new drainage arrangement would now have to be considered and all necessary works programmed when funding is available.  This has not yet been completed, so I will chase the matter up.
